Biography

Andri Mahendra received Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (UNJANI), Indonesia in 2004. He received his Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indonesia in 2007, sponsored by Dongjin Semichem Co,. Ltd Industry Scholarship. From 2008-2013 he was with Dongjin Semichem Co., Ltd R&D Department in Incheon, South Korea, worked as a Research Engineer.

Currently, he is PhD student under Professor Philip Leong and Professor Benjamin Eggleton supervision at Computer Engineering and Centre of Ultrahigh bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems (CUDOS) laboratories at the School of Electrical and Information Engineering and School of Physics University of Sydney, sponsored by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education, Ministry of Finance (LPDP Scholarship).

He is working with Dr. Chunle Xiong at Quantum Integrated Photonics Research Group and Dr. David Marpaung at SBS Research Group focusing on developing electronics and photonics integrated device, which will enable applications of the device in the real world such as ultra-powerful computing for financial organization, high capacity optical communications, microwave photonics signal processing, and secure communications for the defense sector.

From March to August 2016, he was a Visiting Research Scholar at Silicon Integrated Nanophotonics Group at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in New York, USA.
