EIE attends second HIT/USyd Workshop in Harbin
A delegation of senior academics from the School of Electrical and Information Engineering (EIE) visited Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in January 2015 for the 2nd HIT/USyd Workshop. Academic attendees were Prof Joe Dong (Head of School), Prof Branka Vucetic, Prof Philip Leong, A/Prof Yonghui Li and Hon A/Prof David Levy. HIT kindly supported the travel of 5 EIE postgraduate students, Yuanye Ma, Chew Suen Xin, Chunfeng Liu, Wang Zhang and Nicholas Fraser.
Along with an exchange of research and teaching ideas, initiatives to further improve collaboration were discussed. Prof Dong met with key academics from HIT including Prof Xuemei Ding, Vice President. Prof Philip Leong was awarded a visiting professorship at HIT. Ms Tianyuan Ma, one of the first graduates of the HIT/Sydney 2+2 program and now back at HIT, gave a fine talk regarding her experiences.
